Reese Calder orders a custom companion android, 006, with the face of Nolan Vance, her spoiled, maddening lifelong rival. By day, 006 cooks, cleans, and kneels when she says, "Down." By night, he breaks every command and makes her forget he is supposed to be a machine. Then Kindred Care texts: "Your companion hasn't shipped yet." Nolan calls it a prank.
